East London’s Polychrome channel the darkness of a year of suffering and loss with their new single ‘UltraViolet’. Victoria’s vocal is strident and bold over a backdrop of twisted vintage synths evocative of a bewildering Blade Runner-style hellscape. The song is an ode to retreat into the mind when outside there is only the physical restriction of the pandemic, and yet somehow manages to be as beautiful and as catchy as ever.
